ABOUT MISSION LOGO
The book symbolizes the Holy Bible. The dove symbolizes the Holy Spirit. The candle symbolizes the light of care, compassion and knowledge.
Many people with illness or disability need help and support to achieve a good quality of life and to participate in social and economic life on an equal basis with others.
We have developed a palliative care program and named it as 'Supportive Unit Program'. The program provides all the services and supports on the assessment and need based and enables the beneficiaries to have a meaningful experience during their difficult times. We provide palliative care, monthly support, food kits, livelihood support, education aid,
house visits, wheelchairs, Ask Doctor Program etc. Our counsellors are helping to overcome the ill patient’s depression, confusion, stubbornness, fears and anxieties. Also this program offers 24 – hour access to a social worker for information, support and
problem‐solving by over the phone. Our services are an approach that improves the quality of life of patients and their families who are facing problems associated with life-threatening illness.
Through this initiatives, we have started 5 Supportive Units in the State Kerala and implementing the monthly services and supports for the vulnerable individuals in palliative care. For each units, we have a volunteers team. The volunteers include doctors, counsellors, nurses, social workers, missionary family etc. Our palliative care professionals share their expertise, knowledge and other skills for awareness and education of Palliative Medicine. The volunteers team make available the services for the helpless sick and disabled at free of cost.
Our mental health awareness programs take initiatives to reduce the mental illness and mental health conditions. Often, because of misconceptions about mental health and mental fitness, people often suffer in silence and their conditions go untreated. Mental health is important in everyday life which includes our emotional, psychological, and social well-being.
Our future projects are to set up a 'Palliative Mission Center' (For Palliative & bereavement care, spiritual care, respite care, therapies, palliative day care, support caregivers, counselling etc) in the state Kerala and set up palliative care clinics in other states of India for the suffering fellow beings in palliative care.
We pray for the prayer requests which we receive through telephone, online prayer requests/ online meeting etc. The Bible says, "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God". You can share your prayer requests to our mobile WhatsApp number at +91 9400012198 or email us at holywordmission@gmail.com
