Holy Word Inland Mission, established in 2006 and based in Chengannur, Kerala, is dedicated to serving the sick, bedridden, and vulnerable through compassionate palliative care—caring for patients and strengthening families. 

Holy Word Inland Mission was founded by Mr. Santhosh P. Thomas, whose life was transformed through pain, loss, and God’s mercy. After surviving serious accidents and personal loss, he and his wife dedicated their lives to serving the suffering. Thereafter, in 2013, Holy Word Inland Mission began its services for the sick, bedridden, and needy through palliative care support and prayer ministry, and continues to do so to this day.

Holy Word Inland Mission (HWIM) serves people with disabilities, those suffering from terminal illness and their need families throughout Kerala. We provide compassionate care, practical assistance, counseling, home visits, prayer support, and spiritual encouragement to patients and their families. Through the faithful support of our mission board members, volunteers, supporters, and well-wishers, we seek to bring comfort, dignity and hope.

Monthly Care & Medical Support

We provide regular support to needy patients and families through monthly medical aid, food assistance, essential care items, and other patient-centered support programs. Special assistance is offered through initiatives such as the Pattarumadathil Hope Project and the partnership of ministry supporters.

Home Visits & Family Care

Our mission team and volunteers regularly visit patients and families, providing emotional support, counseling, prayer, caregiver guidance, and compassionate encouragement. We also conduct family meetings and palliative care awareness programs to strengthen and support caregivers.

Mission Fellowship & Prayer Support

Mission Fellowship is a network of HWIM members, prayer partners, and supporters united in prayer, encouragement, bereavement support, and practical assistance for families facing difficult circumstances. Together, we share Christ's love and bring hope to those in need.

Palliative Care Day Centre (Upcoming initiative) 

As part of our future vision, HWIM is prayerfully working toward establishing a 'Palliative Care Day Centre' (Upcoming initiative) to provide therapeutic support, caregiver respite care, fellowship, and holistic care for patients and their families.

As part of our growing vision, HWIM is prayerfully working to establish Palliative Mission Stations in the State Kerala. The district mission stations will provide compassionate care, counseling, prayer support, home visits, and practical assistance to patients and their families.

This ministry stands today because of the faithful prayers and support of our mission board members and monthly supporters. Their commitment enables us to serve patients and families in need. 

The affairs of Holy Word Inland Mission are broadly managed by its trust board. All important decisions, evaluations, or any structural changes are taken by the Board of Trustees. Our organization continues its services, which have become a catalyst for positive change in society. 

The works and accounts of the Holy Word Inland Mission are monitored periodically by the Board of the Trustees. They would meet periodically and undertake evaluations of the works based on the following visible indicators.

3. Positive change in social attitudes
4. Expected results      

The Annual Mission Review & Evaluation Meeting is a yearly gathering of our trustees, leadership team, staff, volunteers, and mission partners to prayerfully review ministry activities, evaluate impact, ensure transparency, and seek God’s guidance for the year ahead. It strengthens accountability, unity, and strategic planning as we move forward in fulfilling our mission of serving with compassion and integrity.
