Behind closed doors, in forgotten homes, many suffer in silence — the poor, the sick, and those in palliative care, with no one to stand beside them.
No one should suffer alone.
We step into those moments with care, prayer, and love — restoring dignity, bringing comfort, and lighting the spark of hope again.
You can be the reason someone finds hope today.
Holy Word Inland Mission is a Christ-centered mission serving those who are suffering, forgotten, and in need of care. Through palliative care, prayer, and compassionate support, we walk alongside patients and families, bringing comfort, dignity, and hope—believing that every life is precious and no one should suffer alone.
Holy Word Inland Mission was founded by Mr. Santhosh P. Thomas, whose life was shaped through pain, loss, and the transforming mercy of God. At the age of 15, he survived a tragic accident that claimed the lives of his cousins and left him severely injured, leading him to surrender his life to God. Years later, after further trials—including the sudden loss of his father and another serious accident with a suspected diagnosis of bone cancer—he and his wife committed their lives to serve the suffering if God restored his health. By God’s grace, he was healed, marking a clear divine turning point. In 2013, the ministry began its active work, reaching bedridden patients and struggling families through palliative care, prayer, and compassionate support. Having personally experienced pain and God’s comfort, the founder and his family now serve with a simple calling—to care, to pray, and to stand with those in need—so that no one has to suffer alone.
This mission is not just a work—it is a response to God’s mercy.
We reach out to those who are suffering, forgotten, and in need of care—bringing hope, comfort, and dignity in their most difficult moments.
❤️ Palliative Care Support
We care for bedridden and seriously ill patients, offering comfort, basic support, and a compassionate presence in times of pain.
🙏 Prayer & Intercession
We stand in the gap through prayer, lifting up individuals and families who are going through sickness, fear, and uncertainty.
🤝 Compassionate Home Visits
We visit homes, spend time with patients and families, listen to their struggles, and encourage them with love and hope.
Every day, we meet patients in pain, struggling families, and homes where hope is fading. Many cannot afford even basic care and suffer silently without support—but your help can make a real difference. By supporting a needy family or contributing monthly to the ministries of HWIM, you become a channel of God’s love, bringing comfort, care, and the assurance that no one is alone.
Behind this ministry is a committed and compassionate team that prayerfully plans, implements, and reviews every aspect of the work. Each visit, support activity, and outreach effort is carried out with care, responsibility, and a heart for excellence. We ensure that the needs of patients and families are carefully understood, support is provided in a meaningful way, and every effort is followed up with proper evaluation and accountability. With a centralized office in Chengannur, Kerala, and dedicated teams at the district level, we strive to serve faithfully—ensuring that every act of care truly reaches those who need it most.
The affairs of Holy Word Inland Mission are broadly managed by its trust board. All important decisions, evaluations, or any structural changes are taken by the Board of Trustees. Our organization continues its services, which have become a catalyst for positive change in society.
The works and accounts of the Holy Word Inland Mission are monitored periodically by the Board of the Trustees. They would meet periodically and undertake evaluations of the works based on the following visible indicators.
The Annual Mission Review & Evaluation Meeting is a yearly gathering of our trustees, leadership team, staff, volunteers, and mission partners to prayerfully review ministry activities, evaluate impact, ensure transparency, and seek God’s guidance for the year ahead. It strengthens accountability, unity, and strategic planning as we move forward in fulfilling our mission of serving with compassion and integrity.
A Life Touched: Jose, a bedridden patient from Chathenkary in Pathanamthitta, once lived in deep disappointment and loneliness, in a small shed with no one to support him and his sisters. Through regular visits, prayer, care, and timely support, hope slowly returned to that home.
Today, they are no longer alone—hope has found a place in their home.
